7 months since Jordanian Journalist Tayseer Al-Najjar has been unfairly imprisoned in Abu Dhabi

Despite repeated international calls for the UAE to release him, Jordanian Journalist Tayseer Al Najjar is still under arrest for utter unknown reason in Emirati jails.

It's been 7 months since he has been imprisoned in Abu Dhabi and no measures have been taken for him to go through a hearing or a decent trial. Tayseer is instead facing conspicuous unfair treatment that has lead his health to severe deterioration

Najjar was arrested by the authorities after posting a certain status on Facebook in which he criticized the UAE, Egypt and what happened in the Gaza Strip, stressing the right of the resistance to liberate Palestinian lands from the Zionist entity.

Tayseer's wife explained that her husband setteled recently in the UAE for work reasons and that he was prevented from leaving Abu Dhabi airport in December as he was heading to Jordan for a visit.

After going back and forth to the police department to find out the reason behind this prevention , Tayseer was arrested on the 12th of december and was kept in a solitary confinement for 65 days , period during which none of his relatives had any clue where he was.

After 85 days of solitary confinement,he was moved to Al Wathba prison on charges of insulting the state and its symbols

Some international organizations have tried to shed the light over Tayseer's case, including the "Human Rights Watch" organization that urged the UAE authorities in its recent statement  to drop all charges against him and emphasized the fact that Tayseer was only peacefully critisizing the authorities.

It is important to note that Tayseer is currently going through terrible conditions of ill-treatment that have impacted him psychologically and lead him to horrible medical situation.
