Emirati minor on trial for travelling to Turkey

A 17-year-old Emirati boy stood trial in the Federal Supreme Court on Monday for allegedly trying to enter Syria via Turkey.

The public prosecution charged the boy with travelling to Turkey and allegedly sneaking across the border to Syria. 

The prosecutors also charged the defendant with "taking part in military drills and training on carrying arms in special camps of the terror group."

 The defendant denied the charges, and the judge adjourned the case to April 25.
