English PEN joins calls for the release of prominent writer and human rights defender Ahmed Mansoor

English PEN, a founding centre of the international association of writers, declared its total support to the mounting calls for the release of the Emirati prominent writer and human rights defender Ahmed Mansoor.

The centre expressed in a statement issued Thursday its deep concern about the ongoing arbitrary detention of Ahmed Mansoor who was arrested on 20 March 2017 for peacefully exercising his right to freedom of expression.

Pen also called for more support for Ahmed Mansoor by sharing news of his detention and calling for his release on social media.
