Frenchman on trial for helping Sheikha Latifa escape from Dubai

A Frenchman has been held accountable in Oman after being accused of helping the princess Sheikha Latifa escape from Dubai.

Human rights groups, led by Detained in Dubai have called for his immediate release, saying that “he should be honoured for his role in helping Sheikha Latifa escape ‘years of abuse’ in Dubai.”

French national Christian Elombo has been charged in Oman with “unlawful deportation” for allegedly helping Sheikha Latifa Al Maktoum to safety in her attempt to escape “abuse” in Dubai.

The family of Frenchman Christian Elomobo, a fitness and martial arts instructor, plead for his release from Oman's prison. He was arrested upon the request of the UAE shortly after the princess was found to have “escaped" with US/French national Hervé Jaubert and her Finnish friend Tiina Jauhiainen.

Dubai princess Sheikha Latifa has reportedly gone missing off the coast of Goa after posting a chilling YouTube video in which she says - "this could be my last".

Latifa, 33, who is said to have vanished alongside American Herve Jaubert, instructed her US-based lawyer to circulate the video in the event of her death or disappearance.

An online campaign has been launched to find Sheikha Latifa who has been missing since March 5th. For more info about the campaign: http://www.escapefromdubai.org/
