Huffington Post Arabic website blocked by censors in the UAE

The Huffington Post Arabic language edition was inaccessible in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after being blocked by the country’s authorities.

Anyone who attempts to access the website in the UAE now receives this official message: “Access to this site is currently blocked."

The decision to block Huffington Post’s Arabic-language homepage was taken only few days after a similar decision against the Turkish-based website was taken by the Saudi Arabia authorities.

Bloggers suggest that the reason behind the block is due to "the website's ties with Muslim Brotherhood.

"Neither the Huffington Post nor the UAE authorities had responded to requests for comment at the time of publication.
