Human rights and civil liberties groups call on UAE authorities to release Yemeni activists

A group of human rights and civil liberties organisations urge the Saudi and UAE-led coalition to immediately and unconditionally release of two prominent Yemeni human rights defenders.

Radhya Almutawakel and Abdulrasheed Alfaqih, members of Mwatana Organization for Human Rights, were detained in Yemen yesterday at Seiyun city airport as they were preparing to travel abroad to an event at the Center for Humanitarian Dialogue in Oslo.

The human rights organisations include Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
