Human rights group renews call for release of peaceful activists convicted at UAE94 trial

As the UAE hosted Formula1 Grand Prix, Amnesty International renewed call for the release of peaceful activists convicted at the glossy unfair UAE94 trial.

The rights group has called on the UAE government to release immediately and unconditionally all those imprisoned solely for peacefully exercising their rights to freedom of expression, association, and assembly as a result of this unfair trial.

The organisation deplored the UAE government’s disregard for its international human rights obligations and its failure to act on recommendations from United Nations human rights experts that it release activists sentenced at the unfair trial.
