Nasser Bin Ghaith continues hunger strike for 46 days

Emirati academic Nasser bin Ghaith, who is serving a 10-year-sentence in UAE jails, has been on hunger strike for more than 46 days.

Bin Ghaith, who is currently held at Abu Dhabis's Al-Razeen prison, has launched a hunger strike for the third time in protest against his detention conditions.

Amnesty International has previously reported allegations of torture and sexual harassment at Al-Razeen.

Bin Ghaith's health had already been at risk before he began his hunger strike as Emirati authorities were not doing enough to provide him with needed medical treatment.
