Nasser Bin Ghaith still denied family, lawyer visits

The UAE authorities continue to deny family and lawyer visits to the prominent academic Nasser Bin Ghaith since he has entred an open-ended hunger strike on April 2.

The human rights defender was recently transfered from Al Razeen prison to an undisclosed location.
 
Since then, neither his family nor his lawyer have had access to him despite their continued appeals to meet him.

Rights activists said that the move came as punitive measure to exert more pressure on Bin Ghaith to break his strike especially after his serious health deterioration over the past period.
