Political Prisoners are not among Pardoned Prisoners in the UAE

Hundreds of inmates in prisons in the UAE have been pardoned.

The announcement was made as the country prepares to mark Eid Al Adha.

However, political activists and imprisoned online activists were not among them.

National news agency WAM said that 442 prisoners have been pardoned for the occasion without mentioning the release of any political prisoner.

Eid Al Adha is a time for Muslims to spend with their families and beloved ones. However, prisoners of conscience in the UAE are denied the joys of celebrating Eid.
