The UAE among ten Arab countries convicted of human trafficking

The current legislation on trafficking in persons in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) covers all forms of trafficking indicated in the UN Trafficking in Persons Protocol.

According to a report released today by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the UAE is among ten Arab countries convicted of human trafficking.

All victims detected in the UAE between 2012 and 2015 were females trafficked for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
