UAE authorities give no apology for a British citizen held suspect by mistake

A British Citizen who stopped by Dubai in transit while traveling never thought that he'll be held as a suspect behind bars for mistaken Identity.

The traveler was advised that there was a case against him and given no further information. It turned out that he shared the same first name and birthdate of the man he was mistaken for.

On top of the emotional trauma he went through, It took him four days of arrestment  before he was able to attend a hearing and an extremely excruciating experience of going back and forth to the Police department , CID and the airport after they finally came to realise that he was innocent.

The man was able to come back home safe and sound but with no apologies and no regrets.

UAE prooves once again to be abusive when it comes to respecting others dignity and rights and takes the advantage of being the biggest trading partner  of the UK in the middle east to keep infringing the human rights of anyone including UK citizens especially that the UAE can definitely put its billions of investments in the UK at stake in order to oblige it to turn deaf ears to its citizens ' allegations.

It is important to note that the foreign office of the UK has received 43 cases of alleged abuse of its citizens in the UAE since 2010.
