Is UAE turning its citizens into snitches ?

The UAE state security forces are increasingly investing money and power in order to spy on citizens , They are absolutely ready to transform the UAE community into snitches. All means are justified as long as they can get more information about their target.

The Vice President of Dubai Police,Dahi Khalfan, has recently announced a cash prize for those who report an "ikhwani" , in reference to the UAE nationals who demanded reform or those who are close to the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.

During the last month, investigations have revealed several spy networks run by the state security forces  to monitor citizens , expatriates in the country, foreign activists  and even bloggers.

In April, the State Security Service in Abu Dhabi withdrawed the nationality of  UAE citizen Obaid Ali Al Kaabi, one of the eminent elders of the "Bani Kaab" tribe which settles both in UAE and Oman. Forces have also taken the nationality of his wife and five children After Kaabi refused to cooperate with authorities and work for them as a spy.
