Video: Ahmed Mansoor is at risk as he continues hunger strike
Emirati human rights defender Ahmed Mansoor’s health is worsening significantly as he enters the seventh week of his hunger strike.
On March 17, Mansoor declared an open-ended hunger strike protesting his unfair trial and poor detention conditions in al-Sadr prison. He has been held in solitary confinement for the past two years. And his prison cell has no bed nor access to running water.
Mansoor is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the “crime” of speaking out publicly on human rights violations in the UAE.
