COVID-19: Time to free Ahmed Mansoor and all UAE human rights defenders detained in abhorrent conditions

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the issue of conditions of detention of prisoners of conscience in the UAE all the more pressing, with Ahmed Mansoor’s conditions of imprisonment amounting to torture. International human rights protection mechanisms and UN Member States need to take immediate action to call on the UAE to urgently release prisoners of conscience and allow international monitoring of detention facilities.
