AOHR: UAE uses journalists as proxies to investigate human rights organisations’ activities

The UAE uses journalists as proxies to investigate the activities of human rights organisations who challenge abuses, the Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK (AOHR UK) said.

AOHR UK received a series of questions from a journalist who works for the Emirati English-language newspaper the National.

The UAE National newspaper, a UAE based publication, is being used by the UAE to pursue organisations and personalities in order to demonise those who speak out.

Throughout the years of publication, the National newspaper has ignored human rights abuses by the UAE.

The AOHR UK invites the National newspaper to report on the human rights abuses committed in the UAE
