Dozens of UAE academics, teachers still behind bars

As the free world celebrates the World Teachers Day, held annually on October 5 since 1994, dozens of Emirati academics and teachers are still arbitrary held in UAE jails and detention centres.

There are currently over than 200 prisoners of rights serving different sentences in UAE jails including activists, students, politicians, scientists, lawyers, actors, journalists, community leaders, artists, and teachers.
