Emirati prisoner of conscience moved to solitary confinement

The Emirati prisoner of conscience Mansour al-Ahmadi was moved to solitary confinement following a visit made by the UAE Attorney-General Khaled Hosni to al-Razin jail.

In their meeting with the UAE Attorney-General Khaled Hosni, a group of prisoners of conscience held in al-Razin complained of their difficult detention conditions and ill-treatment.

However, a group of cruel guards violently stormed the prisoners’ cell and brutally attacked them shortly after the Attorney-General had left the meeting,

Following the violent raid, al-Ahmadi was moved to solitary confinement where he remained handcuffed and without food for three days.

Al-Ahmadi was arrested on Oct. 12, 2012 after his arbitrary arrest during a crackdown on large-scale against the freedom of expression and association in the UAE. He was convicted to prison terms of between 7 and 15 years in the mass trial of a group of 94 activists of UAE nationals.
