European citizen sentenced 5 years in UAE

A European citizen was sentenced to five years and a fine of 50,000 Emeriti dirham for allegedly insulting UAE rulers.

The UAE Attorney General accused the European citizen of “resisting” customs inspector who tried to search his luggage in Abu Dhabi airport.

The Attorney General also charge him of insulting UAE government institutions and rulers.

It is worth to mention that 37 British nationals were arrested in UAE under similar pretexts.
