Prisoner of conscience Dr. Saif Al-Ajla deprived of bidding farewell to his mother

The Emirati prisoner of conscience Dr. Saif Al-Ajla was deprived of bidding farewell to his mother, who died this week. 

Dr. Saif Al-Ajla has ended his prison sentence on July 24, 2022. However, he is continued to be held beyond his release date in flagrant violation of national and international laws.

The number of political prisoners held in UAE jails beyond their release dates reached an unprecedented number after eight other prisoners completed their prison sentence between 17 and 25 July 2022.

38 political prisoners are currently held in the UAE jails pass their release dates, including two women, one of them is a mother of five.
