Right groups condemn UAE court’s ruling against online activist

Numerous human rights groups condemned over the past few weeks the UAE court’s ruling against the activist Amina Mohamed Abdouli over a publishing-related case.

Amnesty International has issued a report on Nov.4 denouncing the UAE verdict against Amina ‘Abdouli and her brother Mos’ab ‘Abdouli.

The report also called for taking action against the UAE’s systematic targeting of freedom of speech in the country.

For its part, the Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) denounced the ruling issued by the Supreme Federal Court to imprison tweep Amina Abdouli for five years.

ANHRI called on UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to use his authority to release social media activist Amina Abdouli and to halt the prosecution of social media activists and stop curbing freedom of opinion and expression.
