What to do when you're arrested overseas

There aren't many situations where ordinary people are thrust into the world of international diplomacy, but being arrested in another country is one of them.

But how do you even begin to navigate a foreign legal system, let alone the politics and media attention that goes along with it?

Andrew Greste is the brother of Peter Greste, the Al Jazeera journalist who was imprisoned in Egypt for over a year. He and his family have written a book about the ordeal, Freeing Peter: how an ordinary family fought an extraordinary battle.

He joins Patricia Karvelas in The Drawing Room, along with Jodi Magi, who was in imprisoned in the United Arab Emirates, and is now part of a coalition of ex-prisoners who are advocating for greater awareness about the legal system in the UAE.
